When the Wind Doesn't Let Up (But You Do)
This weekend, I was on the back of a motorcycle.
The wind was relentless, with gusts that hit us hard enough that I had to brace myself just to stay on.
There’s a specific kind of vulnerability in riding as a passenger.
You’re not in control.
You’re not steering.
You’re not dictating the speed
You’re simply in it; with the road, the weather, and your own response.
When that first gust hit, I asked, what the hell are we doing out riding today? I resisted the wind. I tensed my shoulders. I h…
What’s Been Lying Dormant?
What’s Been Lying Dormant?
This blog post is coming out at the end of March, not because I forgot, but because I’ve been spending as much time as I can outside, soaking in the spring before the heat arrives. I’ve been immersed in the experience, gathering insights from the land and my soul before sitting down to formally write about them.
It's that time of year when the daffodils and crocus push their way through the soil out front, and this past week, buds formed on the lilac and black cher…
When Trying to 'Fix' Them is Breaking You
February, the month of love. For some, it is all romance, chocolate and roses. But if you’ve heard my story, you know that it hasn’t always been the case for me.
What my experiences have made clear is this: self-love, self-trust, and self-respect are the missing pieces in relationships that leave us feeling depleted. Without them, we find ourselves fighting battles that were never ours to begin with.
I was reminded of this during a recent conversation with someone who had spent years trying…
2025: The Year of Detachment, Transformation, and Completion
2025: The Year of Detachment, Transformation, and Completion
During my undergraduate studies, my sociology class was assigned a project that required us to imagine we were “aliens” (a visitor) from another world visiting Earth for the first time. The challenge? To step back and view society as a detached observer without preconceived understandings, biases, or ingrained beliefs. We had to describe what we saw from the outside looking in.
I struggled with it at first. It’s not easy to strip a…

Beyond the Labels: Moving Towards Self-Transcendence
Well, I did it. I gave my TEDx Southlake talk, Bridging the Gap: From Labels to Lives on October 27th. I spoke about how our systems are failing us, how we box people into limiting labels and fail to see the role we play in all of it. Offering my solution on a TEDx stage was a big stretch for me... embracing the power of interconnectedness and building new models that integrate modern science and ancient wisdom. Wow! And yes, I have a system for building these new models. It will launch in 2025!…
You Never Step into The Same River Twice
Heraclitus famously said, “No man ever steps into the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”
Simple, yet so profound at that same time. Life is in constant flow and we, like the river, are in a perpetual state of change. These states of change can be at the micro level, tiny changes we may not even notice, or they can be major, rock your world, types of events that leave us forever altered.
I am speaking at TEDx Southlake this month and I sat by a river w…

Grow or Status Quo: What are you Choosing?
At the beginning of the month, I was walking in my back yard and I stopped at two trees I visit every day. I placed one hand on each tree, as I always do. The tree on my right bears a scar from being trimmed back by the previous owners to make room for the path. I often put my hand on that sawed off branch.
On that day, I heard: "See me for my light, not for my wounds."
I was surprised to catch myself unconscious…
Embrace Your Rebirth: Shedding the Old with Natures Guidance
In my May blog, I shared an extraordinary experience I had with the energy of the Condor (a type of Vulture). At the time I felt a signaling of a period of personal transformation. It has been a profound two months of up-leveling my consciousness, a process of rebirth which enables me to show up even more fully for those I serve.
Here is a recap of my experience with the Condor...
While exploring Machu Picchu, I felt compelled to leave a small offering, dedicating the offering to the Condor…
A Simple Gesture, A Majestic Response at Machu Picchu
This past Tuesday, I returned from an amazing trip to Peru. It was a personal vacation where I went “offline” for 90% of the trip so I could just be present in each moment.
I explored many Incan ruins over seven days of non-stop adventure. I've always felt a deep pull towards ancient civilizations—these societies had a profound connection to nature, something that deeply resonates with me. I had many wonderful experiences during my trip, but it was at Machu Picchu where I experienced a moment …
